Was wondering where the blue haired brat of yours had disappeared to.
[Another one to leave--even if he had no attachment to the other idol, for Eichi to lose his friend from home...
He shakes his head.]
I'll be there in a few. The rest of the perimeter guard can handle fine without me.
[Being able to teleport through shadows was definitely a bonus in some ways, right. Meaning of course that Eichi's request of 'as soon as possible' would be answered. He even knocks on the door this time instead of floating into one of the open windows. Amazing.]
[In an idol outfit that Tsumugi had left for him, it's clear that Eichi has recently come from a performance. He's tired in that way, but much healthier than he had been in the hospital. Answering the door, he gestures for Reaper to come inside. He has some tea set up on the table in the room he leads them to, for old time's sake.
But his smile is more distant than even usual, and he's dancing around the point at first, of course.]
For a moment, I really thought I might die in there.
[It's a little hard to tell by Reaper's strange expression if he's trying to not quietly judge the outfit Eichi is wearing... or if he's trying to puzzle out the reason for the others' quiet tone and nearly subdued demeanour. After a moment he shrugs a shoulder, deciding he will get his answers one way or another before drifting inside. His expression as he looks at the little scene is almost sour, but it's hard to tell.]
Brings back weird memories.
...
Hah. Your heartbeat is weak. I can even hear it now. But you've still got that drive to keep living. So it looks like death still won't pay you a proper visit yet.
[Reaper language for "I was worried", or something like that. ]
...Even with this drive of mine, death could visit me at any time. In that hospital, there were days when I couldn't stay awake at all. I would take each shallow breath through the oxygen mask thinking "is this it?"
[But, he'll still walk over to sit by the tea, gesturing for Reaper to do the same. Come here, old man.]
That's when I decided that I don't want to die in this place.
['I don't want to die in this place'. Of all the things he's ever heard Eichi say, this... was probably the most logical. He himself had no qualms about where he'd eventually die--even if his revenge hadn't yet been realised. But hearing it from someone sickly like Eichi...
Normally he'd take a moment to sit down. He'd take his time in accepting the others' offer before finally taking a seat, discussing some of whatever nonsense Eichi had been getting up to lately before even making a friendly motion of any sort. It was just the way Reaper worked, and Eichi knew it.
This time, however, he moves to settle in front of him... a quiet look settling on his long-dead face.]
Kept thinking myself you'd meet your end in there. I was keeping close, just in case.
Was going to make good on my promise to take your soul before you passed.
[Dark humor, maybe, but Eichi's fluency in 'Reaper' would recognise this as banter.]
[That earns a smile. He knows, of course, that it's banter, and it's nice to have it from Reaper. Like a goodbye gift.]
Thank you for that. Since that angel of death who was always by my side hasn't come for me even once, I was beginning to think I was truly abandoned. [Keito had always threatened it, of course, but this felt like it was real, even if it wasn't up to him. Eichi folds his hands in his lap, looking down at the tea instead of Reaper.]
But you put my mind at ease a little, with that.
You're right. I'll be leaving tonight. Rather than vanishing without a word, I wanted to share at least this much.

Can you meet with me as soon as you can?
