met 19 people so far, give or take. 7 potential threats, 4 confirmed threats. couple people that were just plain rude. 2 possibly useful allies, but charisma's not my forte. could try seduction.
heard something about lions terrorizing the farm animals near the secondary fence, and something about a research team getting lost out in the city ruins. other rumors seem less relevant to your interest.
[Half of him expected Dodger to be all talk, as most showy people tend to be. And yet, here he is, in his inbox as he promised. It's information he could use, so he'll settle as he reads it over.]
Don't have much time for people who are mouthy just for the sake of being mouthy. Tell me about these 'threats', and the names of these 'allies', as well. It's possible we've met with the same people, after all. I'm interested in comparing notes.
As for your information, lions and farm animals seems like a Zoo break gone wrong. ['Boring', basically.] But I am interested in that last thing. Any chance the team is still alive? If they got lost, a search party might be apt. Especially if it's in the ruins, they could have been attacked by something.
[Which is what he was actually interested in. Whatever might have taken them off course would need to be culled to prevent another incident.]
confirmed threats: - morgan knight: looks like a softcore metal fan, black hair, green eyes. met him once, but that man can switch between guns and swords like it's nothing and goes a damn good job with both. seems like a neutral entity - might be able to make an ally out of him but he'll be dangerous if he ends up on the other side. - roy greenhilt: six foot warrior in medieval clothes. pretty sure he actually thinks he's a tabletop character - even yelled at me for breaking the fourth wall when i brought it up. i've seen this guy in action, and he split a tree in half with his sword like it was nothing. strongly good person, won't take kindly to anything we're cooking up. - natasha: didn't catch her last name, but she's hard to miss. redhead, black skintight suit, killer fighting style. smart to boot, and not afraid to get her hands dirty. if anyone's gonna keep the city safe, it'll be her. and i wouldn't be surprised if she was doing it alone in her sleep. - didn't catch the name of the last one... little busy trying to fend him off while he threw knives at me. viking kid, stuck in a wheelchair. pretty sure if he managed to get his legs working for he'd be on the same level as natasha - fucker's got his shit together.
need more research with the potential threats - don't even have a lot of names to give. but the ones i'm putting my effort on are an elf wizard, a knight with an onion helmet and some guy who seems to be able to shrink and grow at will. and yeah, i never figured i'd have to type that in my life.
the allies are shigeru miyata and tony stark. miyata's warmed up to me a bit - he's shy as shit, but he's got a decent head on his shoulders and some sort of healing power. always useful. stark i don't know as well, but i got some help from him getting rid of the noise i make when i teleport. not sure if he's not an ulterior motive there, but we'll see. on the other hand, haven't met anyone with criminal experience or leanings - just a choice few who are easy to influence.
as for the ruins, i don't have much more on that. i can look into it if you want. or hop on board if i find a team already planning to head out, but that might take away from casing the quarantine.
[It's a lot of information to go through, sure, but he's recieved more detailed reports from his underlings back during his military days. So of course, he barely bats an eye when Dodger sends him back a very detailed report, and he takes the time to go through it before responding.]
Your competence in relaying information is appreciated.
Can't say I've maid the aquaintence of any of your 'confirmed' threats, but I'll be keeping both eyes out. As for the ally you spoke of, that 'Shigeru' kid is one I'm familiar with. Has he told you of the particular abilities he was born with? They'd make anyone uncomfortable. As for Tony Stark... I met that man aboard the Eluvio before coming here. I wonder if it's the same one. If so, we're already familiar with each other.
I'll look into the ruins situation, as well. I don't feel like 'hopping on board' with anyone, but do whatever you will.
I got a real description. Mostly because I asked about it. Apparently he can tear things apart at a molecular level and put them back together.
[Fucking creepy, right?]
'Important'? Your curiosity latches to the weirdest things.
Before I arrived here, I'd been dragged out of home and out into space against my will alongside more than several dozen others. Forced to join a crew aboard the giant space fleet The Eluvio and wait for them to figure out how to send us home.
yeah, opportunity never came up to hear that shit, i thought he was just some kinda magic healer. y'know, japanese video game kinda deal.
you've been through some crazy shit, huh. still, it is important - knowledge is power. i figure the ship itself doesn't affect us here much, but if you were meeting some... alternate-universe version of the people here, that gives us some advantage on learning about them.
and the more we know about others, the easier it is to control them.
You should ask pushier questions next time. He gave up the information easily enough to me, after a few questions. The way he speaks, he's afraid of it.[As if he's used it to kill someone before, or the thought of melting someone's head scares the crap out of him.]
It doesn't affect much here, save for people might show up that I have... history with. Not that they know anything about me of consequence.
probably doesn't have much control over it. mutants in my world hit that rut pretty often.
[He actually doesn't text back for a while... his firefly project takes his attention out of almost everything for a while, until he finally texts Reaper on the 13th.]
[Well, that kind of answers that... but Dodger's not one to give up on something that keeps his interest, especially when this is the second time he's failed to get an answer.]
humor me. i heard she was on the eluvio - i heard you two had a reputation for keeping people safe.
[If it's the second time he's failed to get an answer, most men would realise that it's an answer not worth hunting for due to how dangerous getting it would be.]
You've got a working pair of eyes and a functioning set of ears.
I said it's none of your goddamn business. If you need it said in a different language, I know four.
All you need to know is she's not here, and she's likely never going to be here.
So who she is isn't information you need.
As for what I was on the Eluvio was the same that I am here. A dead man walking, waiting around to die permanently.
[If Dodger knew when to stop chasing his curiosity when things got too dangerous, he would likely be a much happier man. But, at the very least, he can see he's not going to get anywhere asking directly. Which gives him plenty of information in and of itself.]
fine.
fine, let's just get back to fixing that last part, yeah? let's get something going that's more fun than sitting around and rotting.
[There might be someone in Riverview who knows a bit more about who Sombra is to him, but for now he's going to have to do his research to find something out about this mysterious woman.]
Glad you see it my way.
There's nothing 'fun' about sitting around and rotting. Which is why I'm growing to hate this place. I was having a better time when I was working for a group of terrorists.
Edited (what the fuck is html) 2017-05-24 02:15 (UTC)
'Terrorism' is a term that's more of an opinion than a direct definition. Those targeted by 'acts of Terrorism' see them as just that. Acts of Terrorism. Those preforming them, however, see them as something different.
A just cause, freedom fighting, a means to an end...
There is no 'Terrorist group' in the world that creates itself from the ground up with the goal of 'being a terrorist group'. They have a measured goal, a just means that those outside it will see differently.
Creating a group like that here would, at this point, only be for the means of villainy and wanton chaos. While I have no problem committing acts that might not be seen favourably by society, I don't go around causing chaos just for the fucking sake of causing trouble or making a mess.
When there's a good reason to create a group like this, I'll be there to lead it. But as it stands, now, creating a 'new group' for the sake of 'taking over' Riverview?
It's just pointless work. Especially with how many people here with powers that could easily shut down what few people would be willing to cooperate with such a thing.
Buildings aren't made overnight. And governments aren't overthrown in a week. You're still a youngster, so I'll give you a few years to learn that.
look, i'm not big on caring about the big picture - it's not really my problem. i've fought in turf wars, i've sacrificed people to false gods, i've taken part in revolutions. there's always reasons for people to want to change the world and i don't give a shit about any of them. it just gives me something to do.
[Not exactly true, but he's not going to go into the semantics of the odd fascination he has with change, war and fear. He likes to keep his poetic notions to a minimum.]
this place is a paradise. it's boring. if that's not something worth changing, i can't think of what is.
[Translation: He's young and doesn't know how to handle peacetime after such a long time in constant turmoil.]
And therefore Terrorism has a lot of definitions, too.
I could, honestly, care less about how many goats you could have cut open on altars or how many bullets you've put through the skulls of rotten and good people alike.
What the point here is, simply:
You're a child, having been told to share a garden you don't much like or have interest in. So instead of putting aside your own issues and waiting to figure out something you want to do, you're digging up the entire thing just to see how everyone else reacts.
It's childish.
You're antsy and don't have any patience because you're still a kid.
Physical age doesn't denote your ability nor your ability to handle things.
It's not my job to give you 'something better to do'. We're not so close for me to feel like I should give you tasks out of pity.
I'm not interested in integrating into society and playing house here either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to kick and scream for something to do, either.

no sweat!
i think i'll stick around here, grab ahold of the party when they get back. seems like a better use of my time.
and am i gonna get a story about that eluvio thing? seems like important information if you met stark.
